Above: Here we have two mycorrhizae stacked and a bud on top.  Seems to me this is beginning to form a mycorrhizae chain.

A mycorrhizae chain with a bud starting and root hairs. Do not confuse the root hairs and the mycorrhizae.  Remember mycorrhiza is a fungus/root composite organ.  And root hairs are extensions of single epidermal cells.
