Included Bark  - One way include bark forms is when the branch bark ridge turns inward.  This is common with codominant stems.  Click here for dissection.  One interesting point is that bark is always formed on the outside of the tree.  Bark does not form inside wood.  Included bark is a condition where the tree has grown around the bark which leaves it included.
