Trees That Should Not Leave The Nursery

Here is what I have so far.  many trees planted today should not have left the nursery.

Here are some examples.  Please try back later as I will be building this site.

Above:  This tree has bark that has rolled in.  Note how the trunk envelopes the branch.  This tree should not leave the nursery.  Foreseeable problems for the future.

Above:  This tree has wounds on the trunk.

Above:

This Japanese Maple Blood Good has wounds on the trunk that closed or sealed.  The wound was compartmentalized.  These types of wounds, I believe, are some of the primary cause of cracks that result in the blame going to “frost” cracks or “sun” scold.  I will look for a tree with cracks to dissect, that have such conditions as the latter.

Above:  This tree has what is called a V-Crotch.  This will be a problem for this tree as the two leaders grow and wound each other.  A poor selection for planting.
